This map shows that the fire danger is high or extreme throughout southern BC.
At the time of the July 30 briefing there were 153 (+4) fires burning in BC, bringing the total to 820 since April 1.
Total area burnt to date estimated at more than 426,000 ha.
The Current Wildfire Situation, as provided on the Government website http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/wildfire-status/wildfire-situation ) is as follows. Please note that these numbers are unofficial. They may not reflect new fires and will not reflect fires less than 0.01 ha in size. If you are being briefed by officials, they will provide you with the most accurate figures.
There are currently 134 (+5) active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha throughout the province. 22 (+1) of these are interface fires.
In the Cariboo Fire Centre there are 54 (-1) active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha. 11 of these are interface fires.
In the Coastal Fire Centre there are 4 active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha. 0 of these are interface fires.
In the Kamloops Fire Centre there are 23 (+2) active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha. 6 of these are interface fires.
In the Northwest Fire Centre there are 0 active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha.
In the Prince George Fire Centre there are 18 active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha. 3 of these are interface fires.
In the Southeast Fire Centre there are 35 (+4) active wildfires larger than 0.01 ha. 2 of these are interface fires.

• Highway 97 Northbound is closed at Loon Lake Road. Hwy 97 will remain open between Clinton and Hwy 24 for evacuation. Alternate Route: Hwy 24, 5 and Hwy 1. NEW

• Likely Road closed in both directions from junction with Horsefly Road to Skulow Lake (20km) Detour from Hwy 97 to Beaver Lake Road and then to Likely Rd. No estimated time of opening.
BC Ferries is now providing complimentary prearranged travel support for people evacuating the wildfires in the BC Interior. Evacuees from officially evacuated areas are asked to call 1-888-BCFERRY (1-888-223-3779) to secure their booking. Prearranged travel support is also being offered to emergency vehicles and personnel coordinated by EMBC and for volunteers coordinated directly through the Red Cross.
